Hello Steve:
You probably don't remember, but we used to correspond about twenty years ago. I've been wondering what you've been up to the last ten years or so since I haven't seen any records with your name on it recently.

Hi Steve. I took your seminar class at National Gtr. Summer Workshop about 3 years ago. Anyway, it's raining out and I was getting on myself for not practicing enough, (my band's doing well, but that's just easy cover stuff). Anyway, I pulled out the green 3-ring binder you gave us from the course and started working with it again. As expected, it gave me a lot of inspiration. Then I started wondering if you had a website, and sure enough, I typed in stevekhan.com and there it was. Anyway, three years later I still appreciate the few days I got to spend under your tutelage. Thanks, Guy

I walked to a Newsstand in my hood the other night and heard this music playing and I just stopped and listened. I never bought a thing, I just kept asking, "Who is this playing?" I was told and shown the CD case
now I sit at work and listen to your album "YOU ARE HERE" which is the BOMB!!
Thanks!

Yo whassssup Guiro-man?! Hey Steve, just sending out some positive vibes your way. I want to thank you here, on your own site, for your generous spirit, selfless musicianship, and your humility my brother. It continues to be a refreshing thing for me when I meet someone of your stature in the music business, who is just down to earth, dig? And you are, so 'down'. Thank you for that. And I want to thank you again for the Mounsey connection. He is another one, like you, just cool. Hey, you're just cool Etí! Hi Steve:
What can I say? You have a great sound, a sound of YOUR OWN and the more albums you do, the better they are.
And I think you still haven't had the recognition you deserve as the most original guitar player all around.

Steve: Gregg Ivers turned me on to your great music years ago, and more recently, to your Web site - it's definitely "sticky" as they say in Web parlance! I particularly enjoyed browsing over your musical recommendations, and I share your fondness for many of them. Would love to see you perform live, and would make the trek to D.C. if you make it there before Atlanta! Best wishes, Steve.

Steve, I love the site; although I'll have to get back to you about the shaving advice (so far, so good). Thanks for the help in getting some of your harder to find titles. I've been a big fan since your trio of albums on Columbia back in the '70s; and I must say, you've put out nothing but consistently fine stuff since then, as well. Be sure to keep us fans updated on any live gigs and upcoming tour dates!

you the chance to perform live in the Washington, DC area. Best, Gregg Ivers

I bought your book of Wes Montgomery Transcriptions and I have been having a lot of fun learning his music. You are also a great influence on me. When I found out you took lessons with Ron Anthony, I went ahead and found him to still be teaching and performing. Now I found a great guitar teacher because you mentioned him as your guitar teacher at one time. Thanks for your great music and your influence.

Hello Steve! I've admired your work for years as a leader and session musician. As Music Editor of Urban Network, I recently reviewed your latest album with Rob Mounsey (SIAM has it) and I must say that it has been my aural sanctuary ever since - just like Pat Metheny & Charlie Haden's "MISSOURI SKYLINE"(Short Stories) was for me two years ago. My favorite songs are #3 and #4 (I think the first one is spelled "Platanos Maduros" or somethin'...the other one is easy, "Still Life With Mockingbird"). The CD is in my bedside CD alarm clock RIGHT NOW, so that's what I wake up to every morning...ever so gently. Years ago, I was real excited that your band Eyewitness was scheduled to play in nearby Venice, but the gig was cancelled. Sadly, I never got to see that band (as a drummer, I was dying to see Steve Jordan in that context). But thanks for the positive vibrations on the new discs ("GOT MY MENTAL" is cool too)! Peace.

Excellent Website. The Folon link was a great idea. I've been listening to your music since Tightrope first came out,
now all of your CDs are in my collection. "YOU ARE HERE" is another fine addition. The only time I've seen you in concert was at the Century Theater in Buffalo on November 19, 1977 with the CBS All-Stars. That was one hell of a line-up. I still have the ticket stub! Two suggestions for your recommended list, Robert Fripp and Zachary Breaux. Great guitarists with a unique style.

Not many people know that Professor Khan also plays a mean
guiro (hence the honorific "Guiro-Boy") but also whips up a
hellacious shrimp etoufée... See you around the neighborhood,
pal... (P.S. "YOU ARE HERE" is great, but that Mounsey guy, jeez,
I don't know.) -- R.

Hey Steve,
Do you remember me? I took your class at the National Guitar Summer Workshop years ago (10 years ago?). You wrote me a wonderful recommendation to Berklee College of Music and sent me a few of your records. Anyway, I haven't played the guitar much for a number of years. But tonight, I picked it up and started playing one of your melodies that I learned off of one of your records that you sent me and thought, "I wonder, does Steve have a website?" Sure enough, you do. And it looks good. I would really love to hear from you. And if you ever come to NYC please tell me because I'd love to come hear you play. Wishing you well.

Really dig the new CD 'YOU ARE HERE' w/ Rob Mounsey. This is one KILLER CD! Of course, every CD you make comes straight from the heart, and that honesty and integrity always shines in all of your work. Hope you take it on the road in '99!
