 "GOT MY MENTAL" is a major jazz record. It has received tremendous critical acclaim, including most recently being selected by two major Japanese magazines "Swing Journal" and "Jazz Life" as being one of the best CDs of 1997. And Steve just learned this recently while touring Japan as part of the Cal Tjader tribute band. Virtually all reviews I've read of the CD have been very positive, and why not? It is a colossus, a life accomplishment for the New York-based guitarist. The trio of Jack DeJohnette, John Patitucci, and Steve is one I'd love to hear more of.
